Game 9: The Longest Night in Greenspring

It first flies in on frosty wings
as Solik cedes its crown,
the dark of night come all too soon
to city, farm, and town.

Before we face the Mirror’s gaze
and start another Turn,
we hold a candle to the dark
and watch our grudges burn.

On Tynebra we face our fears
and strive to make things right.
Then we dance in ember’s glow...
on this, the Longest Night!

Nights lengthen and grow colder. The power of Solik, the sun, steadily weakens as it rides through the perpetual cycle of the seasons. The Longest Night approaches.

The warmth of both hearth fires and bonfires beckons travelers back to the city of Greenspring. There we will gather amongst drinks and merriment on Tynebra: the Longest Night! While year-end celebrations will surely be had, there will be duels and deliberations aplenty as well. For who wants to bring such "spiritual weight" into the Time of Mirrors?

For those unfamiliar, the Time of Mirrors brings a close to the chapter of yet another year in Mnemos. It is a soulful time for our adventurers to reflect on their actions throughout the year and perhaps plan for the year to come. What will the season bring for you? Let's find out together!

Citizens of Stonegate,

The efforts of the new settlers of Stonegate have not gone unnoticed. While we live far removed from the difficulties you all have faced, the Westin family acknowledges and celebrates you all for how well you have brought order and stability to what was a long abandoned, and dare we say, disused area of Mnemos. It is our honor to honor you each and all with an invitation and ticket to join us in Greenspring to celebrate Materialization Day!

We have learned that members of your town have worked to advance the sciences while you all work to make Stonegate safe and prosperous and have invited representatives of Greenspring and Watt’s Landing’s manufacturing, inventing, and investing communities to offer their services and discuss advancements in the various engineering sciences!

Our friends from Whytmont, who will ultimately benefit from all of our labors, have offered to fund a series of tournaments and contests for the mutual enjoyment of all in attendance! Business interests from across the land will be in attendance as well, as they all consider Stonegate as an investment in the future of trade between the three great cities of the eastern lands.

We invite you to be our guests, make friends, and acquaintances with those whose interests you assist, and, perhaps, develop mutually beneficial relationships for the future!

Respectfully,

Lady Olivia Westin of the Green

“Riding the Spark Spring Line during the festival of Lumyn, the Longest Day? Stretch your legs in Stonegate!

This writer recently found herself stuffed to the gills with delicious sweets and savories on my recent trip through the town. Gone are the tumbledown buildings and dormant hopes. New life has come to the town and, rather than overrunning the old entirely, Stonegate’s new inhabitants have instead embraced their home with a pure spirit that makes even the oldest residents smile. Plus they have help dealing with such things as, oh, the occasional…invasive vegetation.

The residents of Stonegate recently held their first election, too, and now we shall see what comes of their decisions.

And I’ve heard there’s a talent show planned on Lumyn’s night this year!

Who will win? How will they do? Am I talking about the talent show or the newly elected?

I, for one, am dying to find out!”

Game 4: Time Draws Near

The first winter is passing in a rejuvenated Stonegate, and the town has been anything but idle. Buildings long shuttered have come back to life, a fire burns brightly in the forge, and the land itself reverberates with vibrant energy brought by its new inhabitants. Tynebra has come and gone, as have the Time of Mirrors and Incarnation Day. Now Greenbud approaches and the town prepares for life to return to the land as well.

Yet, questions remain from events this past Turn…

Rumors of odd creatures in the forest that have been behaving rather strangely. An army of reanimants threatens to trouble the populace of Stonegate. An unusual game has called forth mischief and strife in the town, and to top it all off, the would-be Judge of the trial of the morally questionable Doctor Jenner was abducted, with what seems to be military precision.

What will happen next? Find out at Game 4!

Game 3: Distrust, Dimensional Rifts and Dealmaking!

The town of Stonegate recently reopened its doors, and a collective undertaking to re-establish a town along a rail line intended to connect Whytmont and Greenspring carries a certain value.

New residents have recently arrived in a largely abandoned town, only to find a cemetery full of missing occupants and a contingent of re-animated constructs. Elemental creatures who had once been assembled - presumably by the Arcanum - in a terrible experiment, were dealt with. The town stands ready to rebuild, but the real questions remain: Are the new residents up to the task? And what's going on out at the dig site?

Rumors of a renowned scientist and his involvement with the missing bodies continue to remain a mystery (albeit a partial one at best), but said surgeon has returned to Stonegate to assist with the issue of reanimants and a possible plague. Meanwhile, much more remains to be done for Stonegate to prosper as a community - or even to simply exist.

The town of Stonegate recently reopened its doors. A collective undertaking to re-establish a town along a rail line intended to connect Whytmont and Greenspring carries a certain value. Recently, new residents arrived in a largely abandoned town, only then to find a cemetery full of missing occupants, and a contingent of re-animated constructs. Elemental creatures who had once been integral to the town's operations were put back in line. A number of bandits that had been preying on the meager populace were addressed, and in most cases, arrested for their actions. The provisional Mayor has expressed great gratitude to the new residents and will continue to do so for what will probably be the remainder of his provisional term, at least.

Rumors of a renowned scientist and his involvement with the missing bodies continue to remain a mystery but said surgeon has promised to return to Stonegate to assist with the issue of reanimants. Meanwhile, in order for Stonegate to prosper as a community, and in fact to even exist, much more remains to be done.

Please join us the weekend of 8/25-8/27 2023 as we present Game 2 of Mnemos, a lightest-touch boffer LARP, at Prince William Forest Park Camp 5! For more information, please explore this website. You can also join our thriving Discord Community and our Facebook page.

Seize your opportunity in Stonegate!

It’s been fifty years since Delver Hornswaggle and his faithful guide Greensprig the Elder happened upon the standing arch of rock that would give Stonegate its name.  The town was originally founded to service the scholars, diggers, and their families who came to search the ruins of Bal’maturg for artifacts and knowledge of the Arcanum, but we’ve come a long way since then!

There’s a lot to do here in Stonegate, and we’re only getting started! The new spur of the Crickshaw line promises to bring industry and development while also supplying jobs for those who will work to lay this new rail west, perhaps all the way to Whytmont!

Our town is growing fast, thanks to the renewed interest in Bal’maturg from the College of Antiquity, who’ve set up a small campus and are using the ruins to train tomorrow’s archeologists. We’ve even attracted the famous Doctor Goz, who engaged the Natural Ecological Resource Development Syndicate to bring modern industrial, agricultural, and construction to Stonegate. Soon, we’ll be as modern as Watts Landing!

There’s room to get started, here, too! Land is cheap, and there’s plenty of housing. Don’t miss the opportunity of a lifetime; it’s guaranteed that Stonegate won’t be on the frontier for long!

The future is bright here in Stonegate. We can’t wait for you to be part of what comes next!

Welcome to Stratford, home of the Marbury family, a town of industry, opportunity, and community, and now, base camp for expeditions to the ruins of Tek’mahal!

In Stratford, we’re proud of our hard working past! What was once a scrabble scrap logging town has grown by leaps and bounds in the last ten years to what we all expect to be the next western city!

Earl Marbury, the rail baron, was born here in Stratford forty years ago. As he built his fortune and helped forge a more modern Mnemos, he always knew that one day he would return to the place of his birth and settle his family in the land he and his kin helped reclaim from the Tempest. Ten years ago, his plan came to fruition as he, himself, drove the final spike in the railway tracks of Stratford Station.

Our mayor, Talib Firehardt ab Ivyspire leanib Malkreath, has been with us since before the railway came, and has helped Stratford grow with an eye for the future - helping to establish the Wayhouse and build an infrastructure for our town that has kept us apace with the modern age, even so far away from the big city. He funded the first expeditions into the nearby foothills where rich mineral deposits were discovered and used those findings not to line his own pockets, but to attract business and industry to Stratford. There are jobs and opportunities in Stratford, and anyone who works hard and joins this growing community can almost guarantee their good fortune and prosperity!

Recently, stormwardens discovered the entrance to an ancient structure only a little more than a day’s travel from Stratford, and since then, historians, archeologists, and explorers of all stripes have begun to make their way here in the hopes that whatever secrets the Arcanum left behind might be found and understood.

So bring your stout heart, eloquent mouth, keen mind, and industrious hands and join us in Stratford, the Biggest Little Frontier Town this side of Greenspring!
