Our LARP Philosophy

We love stories.

We love stories in books and stories on screens.

Stories in black and white or full color.

Stories in hi-definition audio or old, tinny radio broadcasts.

We love roleplaying games because they allow us to take our creative threads and weave them into larger stories, with other contributors who love stories as much as we do. We love making characters, developing their individual stories, and weaving those tales into the larger saga of that game’s universe. Most of all, though, we absolutely delight in watching players develop their own characters’ stories and helping other players come together to build beautiful, enjoyable, and even legendary journeys when they step into the in-character world of Mnemos. We want to create a shared storytelling experience with each player to help them create a character that is part of this world. We believe that every character deserves an excellent story: one with a beginning, a middle, and an end.

The best character stories are the ones that continue to be told long after their individual tale ends, and we want to make sure that each of you has an opportunity to be the center of such a tale; that the Player Character (PC) you decided to share with us should be immortalized in the stories that are told at “afters” and hangouts for years to come. With that in mind, we’d like you to understand that no character will live forever. Mnemos is a dangerous world; those dangers can and will find your player characters. The goal in this story should never be to live forever, but rather to tell a story worth remembering.

We also strongly believe that games do not exist without other Players, and players are the games’ most valuable resources. We are very appreciative of each and every one of our players, and that’s why we have one more favor to ask of you: please do what you can to make sure that other players are also having fun. If you see a player character sitting there with nothing to do and no one to talk to, go out of your way to engage them. Invite new players to come with you and try new things. Please try to be helpful to everyone in need of some assistance. Remember that, while your character may not always be a good person and a friend to all, making other players feel welcome and appreciated is always a great thing to do.

Help us make a great experience for everyone and thank you for being a part of your local LARP community!
